88.7 The Cross Partners with One Kingdom to Provide Relief to Texas Flood Victims

Community Invited to Donate Gift Cards to Help Families Recover with Dignity

West Monroe, LA — In response to the devastating flooding in parts of Texas, 88.7 The

Cross is partnering with Whites Ferry Road Church and their One Kingdom Disaster

Relief Team to provide meaningful, personal support to families in crisis.
 

The station is inviting listeners and the broader community to participate in a two-

week relief drive, collecting gift cards to stores like Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, or

Visa. These cards will be delivered directly into the hands of flood victims, allowing

them to purchase urgently needed items such as medicine, clothing, baby supplies,

and other personal essentials.
 

“When people lose everything, even a small choice—like what kind of formula to buy

for their baby—becomes powerful,” said Linda Meyers, General Manager of 88.7 The

Cross. “A gift card can be a step toward normalcy, dignity, and hope.”
 

Donated cards can be dropped off now through July 31 at the following locations:

• Whites Ferry Road Church – 3201 N 7th St, West Monroe

• 88.7 The Cross – 88.7 The Cross Studios, 101 N. 2nd Street, Suite 200, West Monroe

The One Kingdom team, which has a long history of showing up in hard places with

both practical help and spiritual encouragement, will distribute the cards through

trusted partner churches in the flooded areas of Texas.
 

“This is about more than supplies—it’s about being the hands and feet of Jesus,” said

Beverly Dodd from One Kingdom. “It’s a chance to say, ‘You are not forgotten. We see

you. And we care.’”
 

Flooding is something this region understands deeply, and 88.7 The Cross is leaning

on that shared experience to inspire generosity and compassion.
 

“We know what it feels like to watch the water rise and wonder what comes next,”

Meyers said. “That’s why this matters. It’s a chance to give what we all want in times of

crisis—comfort, choice, and the knowledge that we’re not alone.”
