318 Day Celebration
Discover Monroe-West Monroe is set to host a ceremony that will include the voices of past and current Ouachita Parish residents.
On 318 Day, March 18, 2025, DMWM will bury a time capsule containing responses from 318 community members. These responses will represent all the reasons why the community loves Ouachita Parish.
The Burial Ceremony for the Historical 318 Time Capsule will feature Monroe and West Monroe city officials.
The time capsule is scheduled to open in exactly 31 years and eight months on Nov. 18, 2056. The DMWM staff in 2056 will dig up thoughts and memories about Ouachita Parish and share them with the community.
The ceremony is open to the public and will be held on March 18 at 2 p.m. at DMWM’s office, located at 601 Constitution Drive, West Monroe, LA 71292.
